Solar Energy Solutions in Haiti & Africa

Charles “Chip” Pickering has been active in providing photovoltaic power system design and installations in Haiti and Africa. He has worked with his friends on the Phebe Hospital Maintenance team in Bong County, Liberia to provide power for clinics in Liberia. Both Botota and Naama clinics received a 1 kW PV system which powers lighting, convenience outlets and a refrigeration system specially adapted to the African climate and donated by Thermo Fisher of Marietta, Ohio.

The generator and electrical rewiring for Phebe Hospital was completed in 2008 and the PV installations at the clinics and for the Kitzumbe family compound were completed in 2009.
